San Jose
Serving the Children of the World

Hello, and welcome to the Downtown San Jose Kiwanis Club.

Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service to children and communities. Kiwanis members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged, and care for the sick. They develop youth as leaders, build playgrounds, raise funds for pediatric research, and much more.  When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream, and succeed, great things happen!

In the San Jose club we are a fun-loving group of men and women who join together to help the needy children and elderly within our community. We sponsor student groups in local schools, participate in local San Jose community projects and raise money for the needy.  Our membership ranges in age from the 20's to the 80's with the majority falling in the mid range; most are career professionals or happily retired individuals. Everyone pitches in at their own pace and throughout the year as we raise over $125,000 through fund raisers like Christmas in the Park, our Christmas tree lot, The Turnaround Scholarship Drive, and others.

There are many levels of participation.  We meet weekly to hear interesting speakers and plan our projects.  Some members  just volunteer for our community service and fund raising projects.  Still others donate money for needy projects and join us for fun social events.  Give us a call at 408-505-8198 and we would be glad to answer your questions and invite you to a free lunch at the downtown Flames Restaurant at 88 South 4th Street at San Fernando Street to see how Kiwanis works.
